START GAME

Get out of your transporter and look around...find out there is nothing you can do here. 
 
Find the stairs and follow them up to a bridge that goes out to another island. Walk out onto the bridge  and then turn around. You will see in the background a big golden dome. This is your first destination. But in order to get there you need to become acquainted with the gate room.

GATE ROOM 

Walk forward and enter the hallway leading into what is called the "GATEROOM" Some people also refer to this room as the beetle room. But whatever you call it, it is a room filled with columns with beetles on them.
 
Enter the room and explore it. Notice there are two doors that are open. One is the door you entered the room through when you first got here. The other is a door leading to a Big Gold Dome, but it is currently blocked. This is assuming that you have not rotated the room as of yet.

The room is now in what will be referred to as position 1. Go back outside and turn around, find the button right before you enter the room. push it. The room rotates it is now in position 2 which has the doors at 2 and 4 open. You cannot enter but you can look through the window and see the way the doors are. Push the button again and the room rotates to position 3....which has doors 3 and 5 open.
There fore you can determine that:
	Position 1= door 1 and 3 open
	position 2= door 2 and 4 open
	position 3= door 3 and 5 open
	position 4= door 4 and 1 open
	position 5= door 5 and 2 open

Set the room so it is at position 5 and then turn around. Go forward and at the path turn left and go down the stairs. You will wind up on the shores of the water. Look around and try to find a gate that is locked. But if the gate is locked, how will you get through.Click under the gate and you will crawl through, follow the path and wind up inside the gate room once again.

BEHIND DOOR TWO

Walk through the room and walk though the other open door...which is door two. Keep going forward till you come to a lever, turn it. This is really not necassary to do yet, but you may as well since you are already here. This is one of the switches that powers up the telescope, which is one of the last things you do.

Turn around and head back to the gate room. right before you enter the room you should see a lever on the left wall, throw it, this raises the gate that blocks door 4. Then find the button on the right wall and rotate the room twice so it is in position 2.

TO GET THROUGH DOOR 3

Walk through room and go out door 4 which leads to a small room, which is barricaded. Turn around and find a lever, throw it. This raises the gate blocking door 3. Then push the rotation button twice to rotate the room to position 4.

Walk through the room again and go outside. Turn around and rotate the room twice to get it back to the original position, position 1.

THROUGH DOME TO STEAM SWITCHES

Walk through the room and go out door 3. Cross the bridge and walk through the gold dome, all the way to the other side. When you come out follow the path or catwalk until you come to a steam pipe on a small pier. Throw the lever. This powers the drawbridge at the entrance to the gold dome, you may have seen the lever for this just after entering the gold dome.

Return to the main path and then turn left and keep going forward until you get to another lever. Use this one too. This lowers the catwalk connecting door 4 from the gate room and the gold dome

Go back to the gold dome. Walk through it and just before leaving...look for a lever. If you pull this lever the bridge works as a drawbridge. But you need to get back across to the gate room. So use the lever again to lower the bridge. Then walk across, back through the gate room and out the front door

This would be a good place to save your game

TEMPLE ISLAND

Cross the bridge and walk through he doorway, keep going until you come to a flight of stairs...go down them

Enter through a door on the left side. This will put you in what is called the TEMPLE IMAGING ROOM. When you sit in the chair and push the button on your right, a cage comes up and surrounds you. The lever controls the imaging, but is not operational from what I remember. Many people have asked the purpose of this chair, from what I can gather there is none for you. But Gehn uses this to project his image to the other parts of riven.

Get out of the chair and you will notice two devices, go the one on the left side of the door and find a lever. Move it to open a door that is in a room filled with pillars. This is the first time I have mentioned this room but you may have seen it during your own wanderings. But you will go there in the next step.

Return to the main passageway and turn left...walk along the corridor till you come to a stone door. Click on the door to open it and then enter the TEMPLE.

TRAM RIDE TO JUNGLE ISLAND

Check out the room. Once again it appears as though there is nothing you can do here, for now at least.

Turn around and go through the open door, turn right, and go forward to the tram station. Notice the blue light button and press it. This will summon the tram if it is not already there. Get in the tram.

Soon you will be departing this island and all though you will be able to return, it would be a good idea to save your game at this point.

Turn the knob, this will rotate the tram....and then throw the lever, this will start you on your ride.

Find something to hold onto....this is probably some of the best graphics in the game.

JUNGLE ISLAND

When the tram comes to a stop, get out and turn right. Go forward one screen and turn right again. Look around until you find an EYE embedded in the rock wall.

Click the eye and write down the symbol that appears. Also notice the frog like sound it makes. There are a total of five of these eyes that you will eventaully find. Although it is not important that you actually find these eyes, you do need to know what kind of symbol and what sound is for each eye.

Turn around and go up the stairs. keep going forward but if you turn around and look at the eye every now and then you will see a silhouette of a frog. Keep this in mind.

Continue deeper into the cave until you exit it, go down the stairs.

When you come to the junction in the path....turn left and go forward.

THE SUNNERS

The animals that you see sitting on the rocks are called  SUNNERS. If you go down the stairs slowly you can get close to them before scaring them away. Move forwared one screen and the sunners will make a sound and look around. After they put their heads back down, move forward again and then wait. Keep doing this and you will be able to get close enough to see what they actuaqlly look like. But if you go fast they will leave right away...just keep in mind that you saw them here and what sound they made (like a quacking bark, I don't know how else to describe it).

Go all the way down by the water and then turn right. Keep going and when you get to as far as you can go, look around and enjoy the scenery.

Turn around and head back to where you saw the sunners. If you look on the rock they were on...you have to go in the water (but it looks like a nice day)...you will find another EYE. 

Once again click on it and write down the symbol on the back. Pay attention to the sound that it made, something like a groan.

THE SANDBOX

Find your way back to the path that you strayed from to see the SUNNERS, and when you get there, continue to the left. Keep going and eventually you will go through a tunnel and when you come out there will be an alarm sounding...you have been spotted. Don't run away...just keep going forward to the end of the walkway.

Look around and then go down the ladder. You should be in what I will call the Sand Box. Find a little lever...I think it is in the lower right lower right...and turn it.

The sandbox fills with water and gives the shape of a beetle...with another EYE. Check out the eye and draw the symbol...also write down the sound it makes.

Go down the ladder on the other side of the sandbox and go left on the walkway. Go forward until you come to a ladder that goes to the water. You cant get on it now because it is raised. Furthermore there is nothing to do there....YET. Even if you could use the ladder it only leads into the water. Unless you are experienced at holding your breath, you would likely drown.

Turn around and go back. Go up the ladder, though the sand box, up the other ladder, along the walk way, through the tunnel and past the beach. you will come to a fork in the path. Go up the steps in front of you and cross the rope bridge.

THE JUNGLE

Keep walking forward and you can look around but don't do anything. You want to follow the path that leads to the gate. When you get there, go through it.

Keep following the path until you go through a tree, then stop. Look around in this area for what looks like a giant dagger. When you find it turn right and follow the path down some steps. When you click on the light you will find another EYE.

Click the EYE and once again draw the symbol and remember the sound you hear. It is the same as the SUNNERS that were on the beach.

Go back to the main path and go left. When you come to a fork in this road....go left. Keep going till you get to the area where all the trees have been cut down. The only reason I made you do this is to see that there is a way to avoid the jungle.

Turn around and go back to the fork in the road, on the other side of the jungle. When you get there once again go left and follow the walkway down.

WAHRK IDOL

When you get to the glowing orange idol, look on the top of the post on the right side. There is a switch there that you need to click. This will open the idol and you can go in it.

Enter the idol and go up the steps. Turn around and find the switch to close the opening you just walked through.

Get in the elevator and go down. Get out and follow the trail to another tram station. You do not need to get in the tram...I  am just doing this to let you know it is there and to see the graphic of the game.

Go back to the elevator and go up two levels. You are now above the idol that you walked into.

FIRE MARBLE DOME

Leave the elevator and keep going forward till you come to what is known as a FIRE MARBLE DOME.

Examine the dome carefully. There are a total of five of them....1 per island. As it is spinning you will see that one of the symbols is yellow, but you cant read it. If you could find some way to stop it you could though.

Go back to the branch off that you passed up earlier and follow it till you come to a viewer. This is called a KINETISCOPE. Click on the button at the top to try stop it from spinning when the yellow symbol is showing. This is next to impossible to do, so what I did is I just clicked on the button rapidly until it worked. It may take a while but eventually you will get it.

When the kinetiscope stops spinning the dome will stop also and open up. Be sure to write down the symbol that was in yellow....you will need it later.

Approach the fire marble dome. Look through the window and see the linking book. If you move the sliders and press the button nothing will happen....unless you know where to put the five sliders. There is really nothing else you can do here for now.

Turn around and leave the dome. Go left and climb the stairs to a tower. Open the door and go into the room.

Sit in the chair. The left handles raises and rotates the throne. After looking down throw the right handle and then look down again...see anything different.

Move the left handle again and the chair will go back down. Leave the room and find your way back to the elevator. Go down once and leave through the idol's mouth.

Follow the path, go through the tunnel....you are now below the marble dome. When you get to the fork in the road....go left. Go up the stairs, through the gate and then go right.

Keep going forward till you come to ladders that stretch to the top of the wall, then cross the board that is connecting with another path.

LOWERING THE SUB

Continue going to the left and then go up the ladder when you get to it. Follow the catwalk and you will come to a device. This doesn't really look much like a submarine to me but that is what it is.. Find the lever on the left, activate it. The sub will be lowered to the water..

If during the course of the game you can not find the sub where you left it, go back to the previous step and repeat it. The sub will be there again waiting for you.

Go back along the walkways and back down the ladder. Follow the path past the marble dome and past the clear cut. Cross the bridge, pass the rocks that the SUNNERS were on, follow the path to the sandbox and go through it. The ladder on the other side of it now leads to somewhere.

After saving your game, get in.

THE SUB CONTROLS

At this point you need to know how to operate submarine. The lever that rotates turns the sub around. The lever on the bottom can be moved left and right, this determines what way you will turn when you come to a fork in the track. The lever to your right will move you forward to the next junction.

GET ACCESS TO ALL SUB PORTS

Turn the sub around and move forward two times. Get out and climb the ladder. At this point in the game this is the only place you are able to go in the sub. You wind up at the LADDER CONTROLS STATION. There are five levers. Some are up and some are down. Make sure they are all up and then return to the sub. Now you can travel to any of the 5 submarine stations.

THE SCHOOL

Once inside the sub, turn around, go forward once, then go left. Get out and go to SCHOOL.

Check out everything in the room. There is a cage that has a crank...do this to see gehn.

LEARN TO COUNT

To learn how to count in D'ni there are two things that you can do.
	1. Play hangman and each time it lowers one of the bait....count how many times it clicked...then look at the bottom of the device and see what symbol is showing. Play this until you have figured out how to count to 25.. If you are observant you will notice that the symbols  on the eyes were really numbers. Keep this in mind. Although the game only counts to ten, if you watch closely you should spot a pattern
	2. Go to my web site at   http://members.aol.com/steve32123/    and download the file called numbers. This will display a bitmap that shows the symbols for the number 1-25. Realize the symbols on the EYES were really numbers and save this for future reference.

You now know that the eye that was on the frog near the tram was the number 3. the symbol that resembled a whark displayed the number 5. The jungle eye was 4 and the one in the sandbox was 5. But you don't know what 1 was because you haven't found that eye yet. right?

THE GALLOWS AND THE TRAPEZE

Go back to the sub, reverse it and go forward one. Turn left and exit the sub at the Gallows.

This would be a good time to save your game if you haven't already.

Go to the middle of the gallows....looks like a teepee and click on the triangle that is there.

A trapeze like bar will be lowered. You can not get on it and after a few seconds, it goes back up. Click on the triangle again and this time when the bar comes down you can get on it. You will be lifted to the top of the gallows. I have heard reports of people having problems getting on the trapeze...but you need to do it. (DO YOU HAVE THE PATCH)

Walk between WAHRK skulls and follow the path to circular window in the wall.

PRISON 

Look inside and see a prisoner. I could not see anyone because my screen was to dark, but suppoasedly it is there.

Go a little farther along and see a button embedded in the wall. Click this and you will see the window open up.

When you go to the window you see that the prisoner is no longer there. Go inside and click on the sewer grating then click the water. This opens a secret passage...enter it.

SECRET PASSAGE IN THE DARK

As you enter the room you hear the door shut behind you. Go forward 7 screens, you will be in total darkness and then finally a open in the wall leads out to the sea.

You cannot go out that way but if you look at the window closely you will see a branch. At the end of the branch, right against the wall there is a light bulb. It is hard to find and I think you may need to use the patch that is available from broderbund, but it is there. Your cursor will turn into an open hand...grab the bulb, now there is light in this room.

Turn around and go forward two screens...I think and on the left side you will find another light. Turn it on.

Continue back the way you came and you will come to another light on the right. turn it on.

And if you go back toward the entrance one more screen you will find the last light on the left side. turn this one on also.

FIND ENTRANCE TO ANIMAL STONE PUZZLE

Across the path from the last light you turned on you should see a door on the right. When you open the door, the door that was on the other side closes. That is a good sign...you want that to happen.

Enter the passage that you have just discovered and follow it until you come to a room with 25 stone pillars.

Because you only know 4 of the symbols from the eyes, you cannot do anything else here right now, unless you want to try every possible combination until you find the first one. remember this room and how you got here, you will need to come back eventually.

RETURN TO JUNGLE AREA

Go back up the passage and return to the door that threw you in here in the first place. Look around and to the right you will find a ring on the ground. Pull it to open the door and then go back through the prison cell and go outside.

Turn right and walk along the catwalk until you come to the ladder. Click on it to lower it, climb down it and follow the path back to the lagoon. Keep going and go out the gate....you are now in the area where all the tress have been cut down.

COAL CAR TO CRATER ISLAND

Turn left to the fork and then right. Keep going until you will come to a tunnel. Take the tunnel and wind up in a cart. pull the lever and hold on.

You are now dumped into a log chipper on CRATER ISLAND, be grateful it is not turned on.. Get out of the cart and climb down the ladder.

Walk past the BOILER (the big round thing that you can't miss) and follow the beach shore until you come to a ladder embedded in the wall of rock. Climb up it only to determine that the hatch is locked, go back down.

Go to the pier that sticks out in the water. When you get there you will find a lever. Set the valve to the center position.

THE BOILER

Go back and examine the boiler. The door is locked and there is a red light next to the door.

Follow the catwalk on the right side and keep going till you come to a fork in the pipe that extends into the water. There is a lever you need to find at this point. it has two positions; up, which powers the pumps to drain or fill the boiler, and down, which controls a grate that moves inside the boiler. Be sure the lever is in the UP position. and then turn right.

Now you see the boiler controls. Find a lever in the lower right side, and turn it to the up position. there is a wheel on the left that will drain the boiler when you turn it.

Go back to the fork in the pipe and move the lever to the lower position and then go back to the boiler controls and throw the switch in the upper right of the boiler.

Go back to the door that was locked before (in front) and find out you can open it by clicking on it. Go inside and go through the pipe that is in the middle of the room.

Once again you are thrown into darkness....move forward until you get outside again.

GO TO GEHN'S LAB

Turn left and if you look hard you will see that there is a path that looks unused....follow it.

Climb over the railing and open the hatch in the floor....remember...this was locked from the bottom.

Stand up and turn around. Open the door and go though them. Once inside you need to click on the doors again in order to close them. You should see a passageway on each side of the doors, but don't go in them yet.

THE  FROG CATCHER

Turn around and follow the path until you get to the famous Frog Catcher. 

Look up and see the fan.

SECRET PASSAGES BY DOUBLE DOORS

Go back toward the two passages that were conceal by the open doors and follow the left one to, ah another dome.

FIRE MARBLE DOME

Follow the catwalk that wraps around the dome and look for a viewer mounted in the wall. You will be able to see it, but you cant get there. Go back and close the door that you opened to get into this room and once again  you will find a hidden passage.

Follow it and you will come to a room which has the viewer. Keep clicking on it rapidly until it stops. Notice the symbol, A circle with a vertical line through it.

THE RIGHT PASSAGE

Go back up the stairs and go to the room where you were when you first came in. Take the path that is to the right of the double doors and keep going forward until you come to a lever along the walkway...it is down near the walkway.

TURN OFF THE FAN

When you find it turn the lever. Now the fan that you looked at is off.

LOWER A BRIDGE

Then continue going in the direction you were going till you come to Gehn's Lab. After determining the doors are locked, continue along the path until you come to a lever by a drawbridge. Throw this lever and then watch the drawbridge go down. Something else happens when you throw the lever, but I am not sure if you can see it or not.

Go through dome to the fork, take the left(have you notice this seems to be the direction you turn most of the game...think it signifies anything)

CONNECT TO GATEROOM

Walk past the doorway and walk to the big wheel. This extends the bridge and completes the walkway back to the gateroom.

GET BACK TO GATEROOM

Continue until you come to the door you first enter the golden dome through. remember seeing the lever there...throw it. This will raise the drawbridge to the upper level.

Go back to the doorway that you passed up, it will be on your right. Follow it till you can't go any further. Turn around, find a button, push it, and then watch what happens.

Now continue along the catwalk till you get to a door. Raise the lever and the door opens. You should now be backin the gate room.

ANOTHER DOME

Turn around and do back to the gold dome. Go all the way down the stairs and out the door. Follow the path until you come to a tunnel. Find a button on the wall and push it. An elevator takes you down.

Follow the tunnel and go up the stairs. And you are now...at another Fire Marble Dome.

Use the kinetiscope and when you determine the yellow symbol, draw it..

GET INTO GEHNS LAB THROUGH THE FAN

Work your way back to Gehn's lab. If you need help just do the last 6 paragraphs. Go back to the double doors. take the left passage and return to the strange device you saw earlier...with the fan above you. Crawl into the fan and follow the air duct. When you get to another grating, open it and jump through the hole.

You are now in Gehn's Lab. Check everything out. Be sure to read his journal. In it you will find a 5 D'ni numbers...all in a row. This is the code for the sliders in the fire marble domes. If you were not successful in school and did not learn how to count, I suggest you visit my web site at    HTTP://MEMBERS.AOL.COM/STEVE32123/ and download a file named numbers.zip. This will show the numbers 1-25 in a bit map image. it is also important that I tell you , this code is exclusive to this game. A code from a previous game, or someone else's, is most like different and will not work.

FIND THE FINAL EYE IN THE LAB

Did you find the other wooden eye and draw the symbol.

Go to the door and open it. Now it will no longer be locked from the outside.

Go back into the room and click on the glowing blue button. Then go to door on other side of room and go through it. Follow trail until you get to a tram, it should be there already. If not, click the blue button here.

Once again it is time to save your game.

PLATEAU ISLAND

When you get to the end of the line on the tram, you are on PLATEAU ISLAND. Get out of the tram and go up the steps. Walk up to the building and go through the opening, then follow path to the crack and enter it. 

You are now in an elevator. find a button and push it.

Go forward and look down. Click one of the buttons on the control panel and watch what happens to the islands.. turn around and walk back the way you came. Go through the elevator to the MAP ROOM.

WHAT YOU LEARN ON PLATEAU ISLAND

This part I am not really going to go into a lot of detail because on my system, I cant see what I am supposed to be looking for. What I guess you have to do is click on each of the yellow squares and see what the relief map looks like. There is a lever or button, I think on the left that will rotate the grid, thus allowing you to view all four sides of it. You are looking for the location of the 5 fire marble domes. After you find the location, go back to the control panel and do the same thing for each of the 4 remaining islands. Write down where they are....you will need it later.

SEE THE 5TH  DOME

Exit the map room and when you get to the junction, look for the 5th dome. You cant get to it but if you look closely, you can see the symbol. A circle with a line running vertically through it.

Go back to the catwalk and follow it counterclockwise. After passing some poles that are colored blue, yellow, orange and green you will come to the kinetiscope.

The kinetiscope is busted up and does not show anything in the viewer. Just click you mouse on it quickly until it stops rotating and opens.

Go back to the elevator ( between the map room and the control panel) and go back down.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRAM

Go back to the tram and get in, but do not go anywhere. Turn it around and then get out again. You are now on the opposite side of where you just explored.

Go forward until you come to a hexagon shaped pool of something. Find a lever and throw it.

Go inside the cage that has come up. Find a button inside the cage and push it. You will go down.

Follow the path and you will come across a robed person. Try to talk to him. He runs away, so follow him..

No good , they got away on the tram just as you arrive there...but don't worry there is no way to prevent this. You are not really meant to be able to talk, it is just part of the game.

GEHN'S UNDERWATER OBSERVATORY

Go back to main path and turn left. Follow path and you will enter Gehn's Underwater Observatory....

Go into the room and sit in the chair. Push the button on the right. remember you were in a chair similar to this before. You will now rise up and rotate.

THE COLOR WHEEL

Lower the lever on the right and then look down. Does anything look familiar. Click on the symbols to spin the wheel. Click on the button on the bottom to turn on a light under water. from this you should be able to associate a color with a symbol. Note the symbols and what colors they are. 

Raise the color wheel and pull the left hand lever.. press the buttons and watch the screens.

Go back to where you saw the person fleeing in the tram and summon a tram by clicking the blue light. When it comes get in and go for a ride.

THE MOIETY AGE

You wind up back on jungle island. Get out of the tram and go through the door, continue till you come to the elevator. Go up one flight.

Find the wooden gate and go through it. Turn right, follow the catwalk to the water. Climb up the ladder that you lowered earlier and go back to the cave where the prisoner was. Enter and go through the secret passage and go down. Find the passage that leads to the room with all the stones with animals and follow it there.

THE STONE ANIMAL PUZZLE

You need to click on five stones in the correct order. They are the FISH---BEETLE---FROG-----SUNNER-----WAHRK. These animals do not look like anything you know from the modern world. Here is my best description.
The fish is pretty much self explanatory.
The beetle is a half circle with a vertical line through its shell. There are also three legs that dangle from the bottom.
The frog actually looks like a frog that has no head...just an eye where its head should be.
The sunner in my opinion looks somewhat like a deformed duck.
And the wahrk looks like a piece of pizza with one slice of peppeoni on it. There are also a set of fins that hang down from the bottom,

 If you get them right the water in the far wall will drain and allow you to get to a linking book. Click on the book and then click on the stars.

Turn around and check out the room. Somewhere along the way you will be shot by someone and taken prisoner. This is what you are waiting to have happen.

IN PRISON

You wake up in a room, the first thing you should do is explore it. Look through the window in the door. Turn around and approach the table, a woman will appear and talk in another language. She will give you two books. Catherine's journal, which you should read, and your trap book (the book that was taken from you at the beginning of the game. Do not read this yet.

The woman will come back againand leave a book on the table(although I never saw her do it). It is another linking book. Touch the stars to go back to the animal stone room.

LEAVE THE MOIETY AGE

Leave this room and find you way back to the entrance to the prison cell. Turn right and follow the path, go down the ladder, then turn around again and follow the catwalk into the cave. Return to the tram and ride it back to temple island

Go through the temple and go back to the gateroom. Rotate the room so door 1 and door 3 are open. Go through the room and out door 3.

Follow the bridge, which now goes up to the dreaded marble puzzle.

THE MARBLE PUZZLE

Look at  the grid in front of you. You need to put 5 of the 6 marbles in the correct holes. You do not use the yellow one.

Based on what you learned at the color wheel and the map room, put the marbles in the correct location. If you are still stumped and have not yet downloaded the file PUZZLE.ZIP from my web site at

you might want to do it now. This will tell you the exact location of the 5 marbles.

After you think you have them right, turnaround and go back into the hallway. Look for a lever and when you find it, throw it. then press the white button when it appears. If you have the marbles in the right places, you will hear and explosion and a swhooshing sound. If you don't hear them you will have to go and make sure you put them in the right place.

PREPARE TO LINK TO GEHN WORLD

Go to the place where you first entered the gateroom and rotate the room so that door 1 and 4 are open. Walk through door 1, cut across the room, and out door 4. This will take you to the golden dome via the side route. Follow the catwalk until you are in the golden dome.

Once you are in the gold dome turn left on the catwalk, keep going forward until you go down the stairs and out the door. Follow the path to the right and go past the steam lever. Keep going until you come to the tunnel. Look on the wall in this area for a button and push it. This is an elevator that will take you down one level. Follow the tunnel until you get to the fire dome.

THE SLIDER PUZZLES

After decoding the 5 numbers you need, write them down in order from lowest to highest. Go to the slider puzzle in the dome. Look and see that there are actually five sliders there. grab the rightmost one and slide it to the position of the highest number you wrote down. Then grab the second rightmost number and move it too the second highest number. Do this for the other three sliders also. Then Click the button to gain access to the book.

It doesn't really matter which fire marble dome's slider puzzle you solve, they are all the same. I am just using this one because this is the one I used.

Save your game at this point....there is a chance you may die soon and that would be a shame.

LINK TO GEHNS WORLD

If you have solved the marble puzzle, when you click on the stars in the book you will link to Gehns World.

GEHNS WORLD

After linking you wind up in a cage. Look for a button on a star shaped thing attached to the cage. Click it and then when gehn comes listen to what he has to say. He goes on and on but you have no choice but to listen to him.

YOU COULDNT GET INTO THE BOOK

When he tells you to link into the book to oprove it is not a trick , try and do it. If it will not work he will go away mad. So here is what you have to do.

Click one of the linking books. I used the one that had only one square on it. Link to its destination and then link back to the cage using the book that is there. I could be wrong but I think by using this one you will free Catherine and not have to do it later.

Once back in the cage summon Gehn again using the button. When he comes back try clicking on the book and pressing alt, on the keyboard, at the same time. Do this over and over real fast. It might work....but it didn't for me and I had to do the link back and forth again. On the third try it did work, which was good, cuz if you fail on the third time ....HE KILLS YOU, so I hope you saved you game. Gehn only has so much patience.

Once you do this you will wind up inside the linking book. After talking some more Gehn will follow you into the book. The book will only allow one person to be in it, so when he comes in...you are pushed back out. DO NOT RE-ENTER Or you will be trapped there for ever.

YOU TRAPPED GEHN

There is a switch in the room that will activate the other linking books in the room. Move it to the right to turn it on.

Go to the window and find a lever near it. Throw this and you will see the cage you were in before lower.

Look for a heating vent and crawl through it. This leads you to a ladder which leads to Gehns bedroom.

GEHNS BEDROOM

In gehns bedroom, find and read his personal journal, can be found next to his bed.

Click on the round thing on the table. Listen to the sequence of sounds that you hear. Listen carefully and write them down in the same order.

NOW TO FREE CATHERINE

Go back to where you were caged before and click on the book that has one square. This will take you to the inside of the fire marble dome that you have not been able to access. Press the button on the floor and after the dome opens follow the path until you come to a huge tree stump, this covers an entire island....so it really is huge.

Go up the stairs and get in the elevator.

Press the keys and hear the sounds. Enter the sounds you heard in gehns bedroom in the correct order and then throw the lever. This will open the cage. I could be wrong but I think the pull cord resets the keys in case you screwed up and want to start again.

Catherine appears and the two of you go down one level. Listen to what she was telling you.

GO BACK TO GEHNS

You now have to go back to gehns house. This means you have to go back to the dome. The dome will be spinning again so you will have to stop it again. All you have to do is click on it. You will have to solve the slider puzzle again and then link back to Gehns world using the book inside.

GET BACK TO TELESCOPE

Once back in gehns world, use the linking book that goes to temple island. It is the one that has 5 squares on it. Follow the tunnel to the elevator and push the button mounted in the wall. This will take you up one level. Go through the golden dome and back to the gate room. Go through the room and out door one.

Turn right and return to where you started the game.

OPEN THE HATCH

After converting the 5 numbers from Catherine's journal, press them on the buttons on the latch. If for example the buttons turn out to be 3-2-4-4-5, press the 3rd button, then the 2nd, then the 4th bitten twice, and finally the 5th.. Garb the handle and lift the hatch. The hatch does not open automatically. You have to click on the handle in order for it to open. If it closes by accident, just repeat the sequence of buttons again and do not do whatever you did to cause it to close.

LOWER THE TELESCOPE
Look in the left support leg of the telescope and find a pin. You need to pull that and then put the lever handle in the up position.

Go back to the full view of the telescope. On the right rail find a lever and move it to the down position. Then push the green button that is right there. Keep pushing the button and lowering the telescope until it will go no further.
